Removing Kool-Aid Stains from Carpet
As a parent of 5 boys one of the most frequent stains on my carpet has to be Koole-Aid. Koole-Aid stains if not handled right away and properly are near impossible to remove. But if you follow these simple steps for carpet stain removal in Utica NY ,or where ever you might be, there’s a great chance you can get the stain out even from white carpet.
- The first step is to blot the stain with a towel preferably a white one. It’s never a good idea to rub the stain. Rubbing just grinds the stain into the fibers and makes it more difficult to remove. Rubbing can also make the stain penetrate into the carpet pad.
- Secondly, you can try a few household items to remove the stain. Using a quarter cup of white vinegar and one tablespoon of Dawn dish soap in a spray bottle with the rest filled with water. Spray the affected area liberally and let it soak in for 5 to 10 minutes. After the mixture has had a chance to soak in and separate the Koole-Aid from the carpet fibers, simply blot with the same clean, dry towel until the stain is removed.
- There are also many stain removal products that can be a great benefit for removing these stains. BISSELL® Carpet Cleaning Formulas, RESOLVE® Carpet Cleaners, and even OxiClean® for stained carpets are all great products. You can try these products as directed and follow up with the Dawn and vinegar spritz method until the stain is gone. Always test any chemical or natural stain remover on an inconspicuous area of the carpet to make sure it doesn’t change the color of your carpet.
